Scramble Rules
1) The team members all hit from the same spot on each shot, with the team selecting the best ball for their next shot. This continues until completion of the hole.
2) The team picks the best ball and plays all of their shots from that spot.
3) For shots off of the green, each player must play within a scorecard of where the ball came to rest. In some events, allow a club length rather than a scorecard.

4) For shots on the green, each player must play within a putter’s head of where the ball came to rest. Teams usually leave a mark close to where the ball stopped to assist with spotting the ball.

5) 2-person scramble involves taking 35 and 15 percent of the course handicap and adds together.

6) Each member of the team must use his/her tee shot once. No Mulligans are allowed.

7) In the event of a tie in score, a hole’s number will be drawn at random and the team recording the lowest score on that hole will be declared the winner.
Traditional Golf Rules
1) You are allowed to have the flagstick in the hole while putting
2) When playing in the sand, golfers cannot ground their club into the sand or move any impediments from the hazard (the area of a golf course which provides a difficult obstacle)
3) If a player hits their ball into the woods or another crowded space, they only have five minutes to search for the ball before it's considered lost.
4) Relief from cart paths, ground under repair, immovable objects. You take your stance, from there getting one club length of relief.
5) A lateral hazard penalty area is usually water, but can also be tall grass or other wooded areas.
-
Play the ball as it lies. You can take practice a swing, as long as you don’t move anything that is touching your ball to improve the lie. However, you can move loose impediments in the hazards! This has NO PENALTY.
-
Take two golf club lengths from the entry point of where the ball crossed—not where the ball ended up, but where it initially crossed into the hazard. You can take your two club lengths no closer to the hole and drop. This has a ONE-STROKE PENALTY.
-
Take a straight line back on the ball’s point of entry and the flag (make a straight line between the flag and the point where the ball entered the hazard), and drop anywhere on that line. This has a ONE-STROKE PENALTY. If you hit your second shot into the hazard, you will be hitting your fourth shot after dropping.
-
A provisional ball is a second ball that a player hits when they believe that their ball could have gone out of bounds. It is declared by saying “I am hitting a provisional ball” followed by the type of ball and markings on it. If the player cannot find the original ball, they will then hit the second ball for a ONE-STROKE PENALTY.
Course Rules
1) None of "STATE 48 Golf" rules state what you can and cannot wear on the golf course, but most golf courses will have local guidelines or a dress code for what you should wear. For example, try to avoid wearing t-shirts, and lean more toward items such as polos, collared shirts, khakis, pants, etc.

2) At a typical golf course, a “good pace” is approximately 4 hours and 20 minutes. This means approximately 10-15 minutes per hole.

3) Maintaining silence while others are taking their shots

4) When someone is ready to take their shot, ensure you are not in their line of sight.

5)After landing on the green, repair any ball marks or divots you create.

6) If you find yourself in a bunker, use the provided rake to smooth out your footprints and any disturbances

7) Show respect for the environment by not disturbing animals, and keep your distance.
The rules we have in play ensure continual pace of play, safety, and balance for players of all skill levels.
